This year has been a rather blog-entry-less year for SMKJA-ers. Well, our apologies and all that, but bear in mind, both part-time bloggers happen to be government exam candidates this particular year, and of course, we don’t get paid to blog. =p
Anyway, an update on our recent (and not so recent) events : This year we have had three SMKJA staff who were transferred out and 1 teacher who opted for early retirement.
i) Pn Chew Swee Moy
-transferred to Pahang in order to follow her husband.
ii) Pn Mary John
-Now who would have expected this, but it does seem that the town schools are constantly claiming our best pentadbiran staff for themselves. Last year, SMB St Joseph took Pn Belinda; This year, their sister school, SMB St Theresa took Pn Mary. Thou shalt not covet. u_u
iii) Mr Sim
-Man, this guy (oops, teacher I mean) left almost as soon as he came, not that I actually noticed when he came..now when was that ar? Anyway, he was transferred to the headquarters.
iv) Pn Tan Kia Ngin
-Pn Tan opted for an early retirement, not really expecting to get it approved, but she did! And so, she left 3 Edmonton without a form teacher, a mentor, the last chapter of maths and almost without the class fund. =p (no she didn’t run off with the money like some communist head, we bought her a really nice farewell present.)
With the departure of 4 beloved staff, no doubt there were other new teachers coming in, but my sincerest apologies to all of them : I do not know your names. Paiseh. It’s exam year, so I must admit I know my history characters better than the characters in SMK Jalan Arang. If you want to know, aiyar, wait till SEMEKAR 2006 comes out and take a look yourself lah.
Switching to another topic, the MERDEKA celebrations that took place recently in our school were a study in weather-condition-contrast. On the Hari Pelancaran Merdeka, it was so hazy that one had trouble breathing (but Mr Haris still insisted on that the ceremony, held in the open air, went on). On the Ambang Merdeka, just two days ago, it was cold and drizzly. In other words, those who survived the respiratory system attacks weren’t spared from pneumonia this time.=p
Anyway, SMKJA-ers who did not ponteng had a gala time playing towkays, towkayneows and customers on the Ambang Merdeka.
(Yes I know, why the lack of photos. Ask the other blogger. I don’t tote my digicam around. Anyway use your imagination if you were one of those who pontenged. Serves you right.
)
I’ll sign off for now, get back to my studying and leave the rest to be updated at a later date. Till then, ciao!
