The Grand Finale.

The title says it all.

…Just for the record, SMKJA will not post any more entries here. You can head over to ARSS friendster group for updates. Happy reading!

Sincerely,

The author.

Teachers’ Day - Pn Fong style.

May 26th, 2007 by smkja

Ever since Pn Fong came to our school, everything has been short and sweet. Almost everything, that is. =P If anyone begs to differ, please do so by commenting. I will not be found guilty on charges of libel. Lol.

But Teachers’ Day 2007 in SMKJA was no exception. The whole ceremony started at 7am and ended before 10am. A certain Head Boy was complaining about the lack of time to squeeze in all the activities and performances, but overall, it was a job well done. Even the official speech seemed to take a shorter time than usual. I wonder if there was any foul play by the teacher in charge of reading that script. xD Or maybe no one was really listening or watching the time, who knows? *winks*

Yes, I know nobody’s interested in Teachers’ Day. =.= I’m actually intending to blog about the school holiday under the pretext of Teachers’ Day. Heh.

For those of you who live under a rock, well, the semester holiday started um, yesterday and will end um, two weeks from now? Okay, I know. I live under a rock. Anyway, to all you deserving students out there, TAKE A BREAK! Have a Kit Kat! We won’t be having another break for a long time, so enjoy what you have while it’s still there.

If anyone wants to extend their break, by all means. Just do it at your own risk. =P The author will not be responsible for any blasting, hollering or disciplinary actions taken by Pn Fong against the offender. xD

*Drumroll*

The day everyone has been waiting for.

The freedom everyone looked forward to.

The declaration of independance - from the tyrannical dictatorship.

Cut the crap. XD Well, here I am again to announce the sweetest-sounding announcement : Exams. Are. Over!

Superfluous, actually. Everyone knows that the exams are over already. Haha. Anyway, there’s still another week of school, so don’t go jumping up and down in glee just yet. The Pengetua explicitly expressed that she would be eyeing any fishy truant cases in particular next week.

Fish, anyone? XD

All Hail Exams.

May 8th, 2007 by smkja

Yes, the very thing that controls the life of a student is back in all its dictatorial glory.

Good luck in memorizing whatever the MOE wants you to memorize!Hopefully, the teachers have been kind-hearted enough to shower everyone with tips and exam guidelines, perhaps even the occasional "similar question". ;)

And get back to your studying NOW.

The day when everything went wrong.

April 3rd, 2007 by smkja

It’s Tuesday. Tuesday means assembly day. Assembly day means…you know I know lah. xD

Well, to start off, there was this rather new and grand-looking lectern (which they claimed was already there by last week, but I didn’t notice). It had a sophisticated-looking microphone attached to it. Bear in mind that pretty things are not always the most practical things.

The emcee spoke into that microphone and all we heard were some faint noises. The routine morning prayer was read and I presume nobody was even aware of that fact when it was being read. There were confused "huh"s resounding all around when it was finished.

Next, we had Mr Haris, the PK 1 to present whatever he wanted to say. By this time, the P.A. guys were already trying to remedy the situation by passing down a usable microphone from the staffroom upstairs. Yeap, a definite improvement - or at least until this system suddenly shut down inexplicably. Mr Haris continued his lecture using his raw voice, and so did all the others who had to make announcements.

Oh well.

Our principal, Mdm Fong, being ever resourceful, even used this situation to teach us the fact that "where there is a will, there is a way". Ooookay~ o.0

And if things weren’t bad enough, the sun decided to start glaring at us. Man. Getting sun-roasted, sitting in an uncomfy position and making an effort to pay attention really don’t go well together.

But where there is a will, there is a way. Especially a will as strong as the one our Pengetua has. Hehe.

Holidays (again)!

March 9th, 2007 by smkja

The exams are oooooooooover! Finally. You can all breathe and start living life again. XD Oh and just for the record, the semester exams will be held rather early this year, around early May. So there’s nothing much to be delighted about, really. One more month and a half of studying and hey presto, life’s stopping once more. Doesn’t the school have anything else better to do than to torture us? *tsk tsk tsk*

Well, I think it was a mere three weeks ago that I wrote a similar entry, but here goes : The holidays are here (again)! So clear your mind of exams, exams and exams and go have some fun (before everyone gets sent to the 7th Mile mental hospital).

I wonder if people actually get sick of holidays.

Owh yeah, and the 2006 SPM results are coming out on the 12th, so all ex-form fivers, be prepared. Other than that, I’ll sign off for now since I have nothing more to say.

Greetings from Arangland.

When you start hearing songs which make teachers and students alike winc..create a festive atmosphere being blared over the school’s P.A, you know what’s in the air - and it’s not necessarily love. Xp

Oh, there was a big deal of romance going on just the other day, don’t get me wrong, but that’s outdated news. Arang Times only offers the most news-worthy, up-to-the-minute tabloids. u_u What I’m talking about here is the highly anticipated Chinese New Year holiday! (like has anything else ever topped the notion of holidays, particularly in SMKJA?)

The last day of school had CNY cards spreading like wild-bushfire, mandarin oranges finding their way to teachers’ desks(bribery perhaps?), distracted souls constantly begging teachers to spare them a lesson, the homework as well, I might add, willing time to pass by faster and the last bell to ring. So, without any further ado, although it might be a little late now, on behalf of the school, I’d like to wish readers out there a very Happy Chinese New Year!

And for those who aren’t celebrating it for whatsoever reason, Happy Holiday to you too!

…and just for your information, OMR pads are now available at the co-operative at RM 1 per packet. If you are actually planning to sit for the exam held one week after the blissful holiday, that is. Just for the benefit of those who have no idea, the exam is starting on Saturday, 3 March 2007.

Ooops, did I just spoil everyone’s CNY mood? XD

Besides, long-awaited PLBS/ULBS books and Co-curricular report books are also available at RM 2 each for those of you who have somehow or another misplaced yours.

Okay, perhaps that’s a little too much. XD Have a Happy Chinese New Year folks!

Feeling appreciative?

Well, my sincerest apologies for that looooong absence of posts (not that I noticed anyone noticed anyway). Life is kinda hectic at the moment, but that’s not going to stop a little update here now and then. Hopefully, of course. XD

For starters, there’s been a lot of buzzing about the up and coming SPORTS DAY! This year’s Sports Day is highly anticipated, highly participated and highly priced as well, I might add. Because for your information, if you don’t have an clue yet, transport will not be provided for all the athletes. Only 20 athletes from each House will get the limited spaces and for the rest, GO RENT A BUS or something. XD

Or ask your parents to send you on their way to work.

Anyway, it was the topic of Sports Houses that started me thinking. It would seem that even though SMKJA lacks a lot of basic appeal, the names we come up with, or rather, our dearly departed *choy choy choy* former principal, Pn Mary came up with, are really attractive when compared to other schools. Take, for example, SMK XX. The Houses’ names go "Rumah Rentap", "Rumah Rosli Dhobi" (yes, that murderer)… Another example? XXX, Johor: "Rumah Abdullah". You get the idea. In my opinion, our very own, personalized names sound a gazillion times better than that. Rumah Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar and Leopard. The names themself create a sense of awe and walaoeh, GAYA.

The actual results are a whole different story lah.

Other than that, check out our class names. From Form 1 to Form 3, the classes are branded by capitals of the world. Indianapolis, Amsterdam, Geneva, pheewit, classy man! Sounds loads better than a mere 1A, for instance, which can stand for many things, depending on one’s imagination. Like, 1 Atrocious or Arrogant. *ahem* No offense intended to other schools who have simple class names.

For Form 4 and 5, Atom, Elektron, Neutron and Proton go for the Science stream classes, which are very very suitable names, I might say. Arts stream classes have equally fascinating names, like Intan, Jade, Mutiara, Kristal and Sapphire. A tad girlish, perhaps, but sparkly (pun intended) all the same. If we had been stuck with the same names since two years ago, they would have been really dull. Sn 1 (Sains 1) and SS 2 (Sains Sosial). I wonder what Sains Sosial meant. If it meant social science, which by my interpretation means chemistry of the other sort, it would have been kinda suitable too, in a way. As you know, those students have a tendency to dabble in "social science". XP

Our school isn’t all that bad, now that you think of it, huh? Names create first impressions, anyway. I’ll leave the rest for next time. Till then, SMKJA’s cool!

Happy New Year!

January 1st, 2007 by smkja

Now don’t start groaning…but school’s reopening in less than 48 hours time (unless this post is delayed due to the earthquake-destructed-internet-cables)

.

Anyway, have a Happy New Year all the same. XD (I know everyone’s groaning now.) Sorry for reminding you guys about that dreaded fate. Totally ruined your New Year celebration mood, right? *Smiles apologetically*

Like someone once said, "Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending."

So, in 2007, may the results, school spirit, and achievements and discipline problems increase!

And don’t forget your necktie, your nametag, your textbooks, your name and your brain. XP

The Great Tribulation. ;)

3 more days to the pembukaan rasmi Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia.

Well, I ain’t gonna be putting up the whole schedule here (if you haven’t memorized it by NOW I’m also at a loss for words). All I’ll say is :

To those not sitting for the SPM, but are having their holiday now, please pray for these soldiers who are about to face the battle of their lives.

To those sitting for the SPM, we’ll be praying for you. ;P

Short and sweet well wishes, aye? Lol.
